 On January 21, 2010, all the members of the New York VFR Airspace Task Force were honored in an awards ceremony at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan. The Task Force was assembled by Administrator Babbitt in response to the midair collision on August 8, 2009 over the Hudson River, killing 9 people including the ERHC's own Jeremy Clarke. January 21st was the final meeting of the Task Force, completing the final step of the NPRM process. Among those awarded were members of the FAA’s Air Traffic Organization, Flight Standards, Helicopter Association International, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Organization and the Eastern Region Helicopter Council. My sincere appreciation to all those members and all of you that assisted in this very tragic time.
